- Always wash your hands prior to touching your tattoo. Recommend removal of bandage within 1-2 hours, or removal of second skin at artists recommendation. Gently wash the tattoo with unscented antibacterial soap and lukewarm water.
(DIAL antibacterial Gold soap recommended) Do not reapply a new bandage, unless directed by your artist.
- After 3 days, apply a light coating of moisturizing ointment after washing until skin returns to its pre-tattoo condition.
- Stay out of direct sunlight and tanning booths for 7-10 days. Limited sun exposure is recommended for the following weeks.
- Do not go swimming or soak in a hot tub or spa until the tattoo is completely healed. Showers are fine. Avoid exposure to body wash and shampoo.
- Your tattoo should form a light dry scab that will fall off in 7-15 days. DO NOT touch or pick at the scab.
- Signs and symptoms of infection include, but not limited to, severe redness, swelling, tenderness of the procedure site, red streaks going from the procedure site towards the heart, elevated body temperature, or any drainage from the procedure site. Discharge from the site may be green/yellow in color and foul in odor.
